Don't buy the newspaper on August 16th... I'll tell you whats going to be in there...
In the first page, you will have kids from the red fort parade waving flags or performing. Or you will have a pic of indian army might (missiles, army regiment, battle tanks, LCAs, etc).
In the articles in the front page, the journalist would have interviewed a security guy, who would say- "Security is beefed up and we have so much work to do. This is real hard work. I am working many hours a day and I won't get to celebrate Independence Day with my family
In another article, a kid performing in the parade will tell the journalist he is very excited. His parent accompanying him will tell the reporter that the child has practiced real hard and will make him proud.
Our PM will ask the nation to recollect the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and get inspired to fulfil their vision. He will enumerate the achievements of our nation and tell us that though we are doing very well, we need to do better.
Somewhere else, there will be a photo of the governor of the state in the states celebrations, or the CM giving a speech, recounting the efforts of freedom fighters and reminding us of our duty towards the nation.

Another article will concentrate on NGOs and what they did for the disadvantaged sections of society. A head of some NGO will lament on the lack of interest on the part of the youth today. Till Aug 15th, Bangalore Times will have articles asking celebs and yuppie college kids from pseud colleges/schools (MCC, Cottons, et al) what independence means to them. On Aug 16th, it will carry articles on how sexless creatures (rahul bose), ugly subhumans (kareena kapoor) or the same 'yo-man, wassup' brigade mentioned earlier spent the day. It might even throw in a poll or ask for readers opinions to fool them into thinking they actually care for the baloney they eagerly send to the editor.
